INDUSTRIAL FILTER & PUMP MFG. CO. is now in its 7th decade of service to American and overseas industries. We were founded in 1927 as a proprietorship, and since then have designed and manufactured thousands of filtration and pumping equipment stations for the metal finishing, food, and chemical processing
industries. As a natural outgrowth of this service, techniques were developed for the formulation and application of (vulcanized) rubber coatings and linings for the highly corrosive chemicals encountered in metal finishing and chemical processing. A series of environmental testing cabinets were designed in accordance with ASTM specifications to provide accelerated corrosion conditions on metallic, painted and coated parts as a further service.

INDUSTRIAL was incorporated and continues as a privately owned corporation. We currently employ 100 people at our office and manufacturing facility, including a staff of engineers with degrees in chemical, mechanical and electrical disciplines. In addition to engineering and manufacturing facilities, we have chemical and physical laboratories as part of our research and development department. Over the years, some 100 U.S. patents have been issued to INDUSTRIAL, many of which are in use today.

INDUSTRIAL is, by definition, a small business, and produces a large variety of products. The self-sufficiency of our operation is the most frequent comment from visitors to our facility. Filters and pumps are implied in our name; in addition, we manufacture ion exchange systems, carbon contacting columns, accelerated corrosion testing chambers, heat exchangers, and both standard and custom waste treatment systems. In the last decade, INDUSTRIAL has introduced the use of porous ceramics for the filtration of hot gases at temperatures up to 2000° F. These filters have proven to be an effective means of removing particulate without gas cooling, and are viewed as "cutting-edge" technology for coal utilization, incineration and other applications.

As previously mentioned, INDUSTRIAL maintains a large rubber compounding facility featuring three large vulcanizers. In addition to applying elastomers to our own products, we also line the products of clients.

INDUSTRIAL's production facilities include a large welding shop with 15 A.S.M.E. stations, a fully equipped machine shop, a filter element manufacturing department (which fabricates both metal and polypropylene elements for our own filters as well as others), a filter bag department which produces high quality bags for filter leaves, plates, tubes, anodes, etc., out of a large variety of fabrics to our designs or to the customer's specifications, and an automation panel department which designs and constructs control stations for all the equipment systems we produce from semi-automatic to fully automatic process operations.

With such a variety of products and associated parts, an inventory control and processing system could be a problem; however, INDUSTRIAL's computer network and self-designed production and inventory control system has simplified these procedures. We also retain a service department which has been schooled in the installation, maintenance and problem solving of all of our equipment and most major brands of instruments.

INDUSTRIAL also has a pilot rental program for in-process testing applications of most of the equipment we market. This service is part of our marketing tools and an extension of our research and development department. Because we have dealt with such a large number of industrial processes, we have developed a unique record maintenance procedure -- our Process Code books which categorize industries into more than 500 separate specialities. From these books we can draw on our many years of experience in any field, noting recent developments, current procedures, and good engineering practices used to provide the most effective equipment design available today.

Finally, INDUSTRIAL has a network of sales representatives serving our marketing needs in all 50 states. Internationally, we have licensees in seven industrialized countries, and to effectively function in these markets, maintain an in-house experienced staff specifically addressing foreign sales matters.
